About Me

After finishing his senior school education at The King’s School, Parramatta, Grant commenced work with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in their tax consulting division, advising mainly in the areas of international expatriate and cross-border Real Estate transactions. During this time, he studied part-time at the University of Technology, from which he graduated with a business degree. He also spent six months at Deloitte’s offices in Toronto, Canada.

In 2001, Grant moved to Tokyo, Japan with the accounting firm, Arthur Andersen which merged (in Japan) with KPMG. He moved to KPMG’s London offices in 2002 and spent the next three and a half years pursuing a career in international tax, rising to the level of Senior Tax Manager. The majority of his work for KPMG was the establishment of International Real Estate funds investing in Europe and other international centres.

Grant returned to Australia in 2006 to join the family business – Beaumont Strata Management and Norwest Commercial & Industrial Real Estate. Following the acquisition of Coutts, local commercial/industrial specialist agents (and the expansion of the Coutts brand across four offices at Norwest, Blacktown, Wetherill Park and Pullman Williams – Penrith), Grant assumed the role of managing director, with his brother Peter, and brother-in-law, Mark Thorn. With an enthusiastic attitude toward innovation and adoption of modern practices, the businesses have significantly developed in terms of the internal processes, creating business efficiencies and enhancing the consumer experience.

Grant is a member of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales, Strata Communities Australia (New South Wales) and the Taxation Institute of Australia. He is also a Justice of the Peace.

In his spare time, Grant enjoys being active – he is a keen sportsman and traveller. He is an active member of the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club and, during summer months, can often be found patrolling Bondi Beach as a volunteer surf lifesaver, enjoying the sunshine on Sydney’s beaches, or participating in community events – such as cycling, running, swimming and obstacle course events.

He has a keen fascination for foreign culture, including food, wine, lifestyle, travel and languages. In addition to English, he is fluent in French. He has basic Japanese and Finnish language skills.
